La Leche League is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, education, information, and encouragement, and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and mother.



 

 Membership Information
Membership in La Leche League International is $40 for one year. Membership fees help to support your local Group and the international organization. The benefits of membership include a one-year subscription to NEW BEGINNINGS magazine.

* Membership is a marvellous benefit, but it is not required to attend meetings or call for help.

All breastfeeding mothers and mothers-to-be interested in breastfeeding are welcome to come to our meetings or call one of our Leaders for breastfeeding help or information.

 
Leader Information

La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. They are available by phone whenever you have breastfeeding questions or concerns.

Meeting Information

LLL of Sandpoint  meets on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 10:30 am.   
Meetings are discussion-based, mother-to-mother, and informal. They provide an opportunity to meet other mothers of small children in our community. Pregnant women, mothers, and babies are always welcome!  
 
 
We also drive the North Idaho Breastfeeding Initiative, which aims to improve inititiation rates and continuation of breastfeeding in North Idaho.  Through generous sponsor support, we donate about 400 breastfeeding bags per year to local Health Care Providers for expectant and new mothers throughout the Sandpoint area.  
 
Our generous sponsor support also has helped us to purchase books for our lending library and donate professional learning modules to our local hospital staff and lactation services, as well as funding for increasing awareness of breastfeeding and support in our area.
